Hello fitness friends (:
I’m back with another ‘Get To Know You’ post on health, wellness and fitness advocate Victoria Guerra. She uses her faith in Jesus Christ to witness to others and show them how to properly care for the body as it is a temple. A DFW native, she’s always busy training and finding new ways to perfect her craft. Below she shares with us about her fitness journey and answers some other questions, too.
-What made you choose a career in Fitness?
Fitness is a key component to a long, happy, and healthy life. However, like anything, there is a silver lining. My goal is to promote self love and overall health and wellness without an unhealthy obsession to look a certain way. Fitness is a lifelong journey that should be cherished, valued, and enjoyed. To be part of someone’s fitness journey is a blessing and a privilege.
-How long have been into Fitness?
I’ve been into fitness since I was 7 years old. I’ve participated in gymnastics, cross country, track and field, volleyball, golf, power lifting and CrossFit.
-What are your certifications in?
I’m currently a CrossFit Level 1 trainer and CrossFit Kids certified.
-What makes you different than any other trainer?
My faith in God is a major part of life and my training. I’m always one to pour into my athletes and build them up mentally, physically, and spiritually.
-How do you stay motivated to workout?
I have to remind myself that I’m held to a higher standard and that I am an example for those who look up to me. I’m not perfect, or ever will be, but I do my best to inspire through consistency and transparency.
-If you could travel anywhere where would you go?
I definitely want to visit Italy one day!
-Is it a deal breaker if your significant other doesn’t workout?
No, they just have to be willing to do recreational activities with me.
-Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
NASM certified and pursuing my doctorate degree in ministry.
